Best time to trade gold: sessions and news times
Gold moves most when the big markets are open. In UTC (add 6 hours for Bangladesh time): Asia about 00:00 to 07:00, usually quieter; London from about 07:00 to 16:00, when the day's direction often starts; New York from about 12:00 to 21:00.
The busiest window is the London and New York overlap, about 12:00 to 16:00 UTC. Volume, spreads and moves are at their best, and so are the fake-outs.
High-impact news often lands at 12:30 or 13:30 UTC (US data such as jobs and inflation) and at the Fed rate decision. Prices can jump, spreads widen and stops slip. Many prop firms ban new orders a few minutes around high-impact news, so check the calendar before you trade.
Rollover and the weekend close (Friday evening UTC) can also widen spreads. Plan your trades around when you can watch them, not around the clock.
